infoYesterday, we reported to you that the ranking Senator Charles Schumer (D. of NY) has indicated that a comprehensive immigration reform bill has been in the work for some time and the final version would be ready within the next month or in his own word “by Labor Day!”

Well, now we have a reason to believe that such a comprehensive immigration reform bill might have been one step closer to reality! It is so, because today, Senate Democrats have just found a Republican in Sen. Lindsey Graham (R. of SC) to help them push for passage of a comprehensive immigration overhaul this year.

Ever since the promise made by Sen. Schumer about 2 months ago, there was very little public news about its progress and one of the reasons that it has not been making headline news was because of the lack of support from prominent members in the Republican Party which is still divided over many issues of a comprehensive immigration reform.

Now, with the announced joining forces by Sen. Lindsey Graham, Democrats are set to win more support from the Republicans and therefore we may see the comprehensive immigration reform bill is now getting one step closer, as we are now approaching the originally promised timeline of Labor Day when the Senators are set to return for business in September.
